Hugh Jackman Rescues His Son And Daughter From Riptide – WATCH VIDEO
Hugh Jackman rescued his son and daughter from a riptide in Australia on Saturday. Watch below.
The actor was swimming at Bondi Beach in Sydney with 15-year-old son Oscar and 10-year-old daughter Ava when the incident occurred. In footage obtained by 9 News, Jackman is first seen pulling a man to safety as the guy holds on to Ava. He then returns to the water to get Oscar.
Peter Adam, who says he was the man seen with Jackman, tells the news outlet, “He wasn’t rescuing me. I was assisting him to get his daughter up to the sandbar. He then grabbed my hand to get us up. He then went to get his son.”
According to 9 News, Jackman also encouraged other swimmers to get out of the water as lifeguards used jet skis and other life-saving measures to rescue people caught up in the tide, and the beach was later shut down. The movie star hasn’t mentioned the incident on social media. He reportedly just returned to his native city on Friday.
Jackman’s rep Michele Schweitzer tells Gossip Cop in a statement, “Hugh and Oscar are 100 percent fine, as is the other gentleman. It looks a lot more dramatic than it actually was.” Watch video of Jackman’s beach rescue below.
