Howard Stern Defends Soldiers Peeing on Taliban Fighters: “So What; That’s War”

Count Howard Stern and Dave Navarro among the people who are not outraged by recently surfaced video of U.S. soldiers urinating on dead Taliban fighters.

The future “America’s Got Talent” judge and his rocker guest got into the discussion on Stern’s satellite radio show Tuesday morning.

Stern explained that it was impossible for anyone to understand what young American troops experience in the heat of life-and-death situations.

He theorizes, “A young brave man goes over there, he’s watching his buddies get blown up… you get done with an intense battle, you’re alive, you’re f**king crazed, you’re scared out of your mind… You take out your c**k and you piss on the enemy.”

“You know what? So what. That’s war,” concludes Stern.

His sidekick, Robin Quivers, offered the opinion, “I still think we always have to strive to be better.”

Stern brought up the sensitive matter of Navarro’s mother’s murder, and asked the musician whether he’d urinate on her murderer.

“More than likely,” replied Navarro.

Navarro was less adamant than Stern in his support for the soldiers’ actions, but stressed that there was no way he could understand their circumstances.

    I don’t think that was fair for Howard to bring Dave’s mother into that, he’s a jerk. I just don’t see what the point of them urinating on them was, they were already dead. It just seemed unnecessary and by now with the all the other photo controversies with the American soldiers you’d think they would be smart enough not to photograph it. We (as a nation) would be pissed if we saw others doing that to our soldiers.

    Dave wasn’t defending it like Howard was. Bill Maher on his show also defended the soldiers on his show last Friday on HBO.

    I think I know what they meant, but I wouldn’t be caught dead defending those guys. But Stern and Bill Maher can take the controversy and backlash.

    HELLO PEOPLE Howard Stern thinks it was no big deal, if that doesn’t make you see that peeing on a dead person is immoral and disgusting then you should be truly worried about yourself! It doesn’t matter who they were, it matters who the soldiers are that they saw no problem peeing on a DEAD BODY!!!

    I don’t think it was evil of the soldiers to do so or anything, just a little morbid. I don’t care that it was disrespectful to the dead- screw them, they were about to kill our soldiers- but i just find it a little morbid that they decided to do that..

    What they did was disgusting and they should be called out for it. Yes those soldiers may have been their enemy but why be so disrespectful that you would urinate on their dead bodies. You have to draw the line somewhere otherwise all humanity is lost. Would they have sex with a dead person and then say it doesn’t matter because they are dead.. It’s no different! Totally disgusting, I am glad these soldiers don’t come from my country because I would be ashamed to be associated with them.

    Regardless of whether they are the enemy or not, it is disrespectful to the dead and embarrassing for the military. They may not respect our dead but that is NO REASON to stoop to their level. Doing so is repugnant and indicative of an inferior mind. We hold ourselves to higher standards and war is no reason to let those standards drop.

    What??? Urinating on a corpse is NOT necrophelia. It’s not even close. And it did mean something – they were defiling those dead bodies because they had zero respect for them. As far as I’m concerned, no respect was due. Oh and btw, I too am glad those soldiers didn’t come from your country because that would mean you are an American and clearly you don’t deserve that priviledge.

    For people like me, who have experienced first hand situations like that, I would feel even better, if they decapitated them, cut them into pieces and fed them to the crows. War is not a civilized act. It is a necessary evil and one fights fire with fire.

    Like I said, indicative of an inferior mind. If you condone the behaviour of those soldiers, you are just as much of an animal as the insurgents. What do you think is going to happen when they see this? Do you think they’ll just shrug it off? Take it with a grain of salt? No! They’ll be even more determined to kill soldiers and civilians you dope! And more families will suffer because of it. The military has a code of honor and I highly doubt pissing on the enemy is seen by the military as honorable conduct!

    I totally agree with you. The whole reason that we live in such a messed up world is because when someone does us wrong is that our first instinct is to stoop to their level. If your high on your moral values why would you want to stoop to the level of someone with low moral values. I’m an American and I have been treated worse by people in my own country than i have by people from other countries. It doesn’t make me want to go urinate on dead Americans. Why would I want to stoop that low? It’s so sad that people don’t have better opinions of themselves that they don’t mind being seen as an ignorant ass.
