“How I Met Your Mother” Reportedly To Return For 9th Season

It looks like “How I Met Your Mother” will likely return for Season 9 after all.

The hit sitcom’s future has been in doubt amid contract negotiations, with Jason Segel reportedly not expected to sign for another year and the show’s other stars and producers up in the air as well.

But multiple outlets report that discussions have led the cast, creative team and CBS to the brink of a deal to return for the 2013-14 TV season.

While it has not been finalized, a ninth “How I Met Your Mother” year — with the central quintet of characters intact — is reportedly on track after last-minute negotiations.

CBS will not officially announce its fall schedule until May, but the unique mythology behind the “How I Met Your Mother” story meant the network and producers wanted to know as early as possible whether to prepare for a series finale this spring.

It now seems like Segel, Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders will return for one more year.

Maybe we’ll even find out who the “mother” is.

OMG please just tell us the “Mother” is Dougie Houser and put the show out of its’ misery.
The most over-rated show in television history, and that’s saying A LOT!

I’m glad there will definitely be a ninth, and final, season of How I Met Your Mother. I know there was a lot of doubt about Jason Segal signing for another season. My coworker at DISH and I think this is going to be the best way for the cast and crew to finish the story line and wrap up the story’s loose ends. I’ve been catching season eight on my DISH Hopper, thanks to PrimeTime Anytime. It can record up to six channels at once, including the four major networks, during primetime. My family doesn’t fight over who gets to record their favorite shows anymore.
