HollywoodLife Rumors

(HollywoodLife)

Gossip Cop would like to congratulate HollywoodLife on officially being the absolute WORST outlet in celebrity journalism in November. Day in and day out, Gossip Cop corrects the webloid’s inane, sensational, and flat-out wrong stories. But the month of November was so egregious that we were forced to bust HollywoodLife more than any other outlet.

In fact, Gossip Cop debunked 18 different HollywoodLife stories, more than the National Enquirer (15) and Life & Style (also 15). HollywoodLife showed such a blatant disregard for the biggest tenet in journalism — accuracy — that to even call the site a “news source” is actually an insult to all those who take the trade seriously.

HollywoodLife preys on gullible readers, hoping to trick them into clicking onto stories with the promise of “exclusive” details. All they’ll get, however, is misinformation from made up “sources” or speculative nonsense. Readers deserve respect, and they deserve the truth. They don’t deserve an outlet that will post one thing, and then hours later post the opposite just to unethically drive up traffic. It’s no wonder HollywoodLife is nicknamed HollywoodLies.

In the last month alone, HollywoodLife flip-flopped on stories about Robert Pattinson, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and more. It treats both readers and celebrities as pawns. And Gossip Cop was thrilled to see one star recently call the webloid out for its crap.

As Gossip Cop reported just last week, Austin Mahone ripped HollywoodLife on Twitter for outright making up a story about his breakup with Camila Cabello. When the outlet claimed to “exclusively” reveal the “shocking reason” the couple split (see photo above), complete with images of them looking stunned, Mahone shot back, “that’s the most ridiculous reason I’ve ever heard… Nothing like that even happened at all. Idk what source u guys talking 2.” Gossip Cop only hopes more celebs will join us in the fight to hold HollywoodLife, and all publications, accountable for its reporting.

This may be the first time HollywoodLife has topped our monthly chart, but we have little expectation that it will be the last as the publication continually sinks to new depths. How did other outlets fare in November? Check out the scorecard below, and stick with Gossip Cop as we continue to separate fact from fiction all day, every day.
