HollywoodLife Posts THREE False Kylie Jenner Pregnant Stories To Dupe Readers And Google
HollywoodLife published not one or even two, but THREE false stories on Wednesday about Kylie Jenner being pregnant, all in an effort to dupe its readers and Google into getting more traffic. Gossip Cop, of course, exclusively debunked the report that the reality star is having a baby with Tyga, a false claim that was splayed across the cover of Life & Style.
The webloid’s first story stated, “[Jenner] and Tyga, 25, are having a baby, and she’s apparently already two months along! The site, which places a premium on traffic over the truth, happily regurgitated a made-up quote from the Life & Style that reads, “[Tyga] though she was just kidding around that she was pregnant,” the source said. “That’s when she placed a positive pregnancy test in his hands. Tyga immediately hugged and kissed her when he saw the proof.”
The original story, which accomplished its hits goal, was then followed up two hours later by a second bogus report that alleged “Kylie has not told Caitlyn [Jenner] about her alleged bun in the oven… Kylie reportedly fears she could lose Caitlyn after she finds out.” HollywoodLies, as it has become known, was more than happy to publish more of the fabricated Life & Style story, rather than fact-check the tabloid’s tale, because it kept the site’s stories at the top of Google searches and generated more clicks.
Naturally, having already successfully tricked its readers and Google twice, HollywoodLife then did what it does best. It took a story that’s already out there, and embellished it with its own completely fabricated quotes and details. Building of the reporting of Life & Style, the webloid manufactured a piece about how Kris Jenner has been “warning [Kylie] to be cautious.” The blog writes that while supposed pregnancy “may be a surprise to anyone, it’s especially shocking to Kylie’s mom, Kris Jenner, 59! She’s actually a pretty big supporter of Kylie and Tyga’s relationship, but not necessarily of her teenage daughter becoming a mom so soon!” HollywoodLies then quotes a fictitious “insider” as saying in fake-sounding and self-serving language, “[Kris] was only 23 when she had Kourtney so she knows what it’s like to be a young mother.”
But as Gossip Cop exclusively reported hours earlier, Kylie Jenner is NOT pregnant with Tyga’s baby. Life & Style was wrong, and HollywoodLife perpetuated and profited from the lie THREE times without ever trying to determine the veracity of the magazine’s story. Only after Gossip Cop debunked the rumor did HollywoodLife suddenly have an epiphany the following day.
Without any embarrassment or acknowledgment that it had not only spread a lie about Jenner being pregnant but that it also added to it, HollywoodLies had the nerve to write on Thursday, “Kylie Jenner has been busy traveling the world to celebrate her 18th birthday, but rumors continue to plague her. The latest and greatest story is that Kylie is allegedly two months pregnant with her longtime boyfriend, Tyga… Kylie is not pregnant! Despite many different reports claiming otherwise, HollywoodLife.com is happy to EXCLUSIVELY confirm that Kylie is not expecting with Tyga.”
First off, “the latest and greatest” rumor about Jenner being pregnant was disseminated more widely by HollywoodLife than anyone else. Second, “the many different reports” claiming Jenner was pregnant were from the webloid itself. And third, it’s not only disingenuous but it’s also entirely unethical for HollywoodLife to claim that it “exclusively” confirmed the reality star is not pregnant.
Much like Jenner, the only thing fertile are the imaginations of the writers at HollywoodLife. The site routinely engages in these deceptive and untruthful practices, and it’s time the webloid gets called out for it.
