HollywoodLife Flip-Flops On Khloe Kardashian Pregnant, Steals Gossip Cop Exclusive
HollywoodLife has been caught lying and stealing. Again. This time, the disreputable site perpetuated the false allegation that Khloe Kardashian is pregnant, only to then flip-flop and steal from Gossip Cop by claiming to “exclusively” know she is not expecting. Here’s how it all went down.
On Wednesday, Life & Style published its new issue. The cover implied Kardashian was pregnant and did not know who is the baby’s daddy. The actual story was wishy-washy on whether the reality was actually with child now, or just planning to have IVF in the future. The article even speculated that five different famous men could father the child.
At 10:49 a.m., just hours after the magazine came out, Gossip Cop exclusively debunked the story in its entirety. Kardashian’s rep confirmed to us, and only us, on the record that the pregnancy claims were “all lies.” But what did HollywoodLife do almost exactly an hour later?
“Khloe Kardashian Finally Pregnant: Could It Be Lamar Odom’s? — Report,” announced a headline on the site. The accompanying story breathlessly stated, “Oh baby! After years of fertility struggles, a new report has claimed that Khloe Kardashian is pregnant! We have to wonder though, if the rumor IS true, is Lamar Odom the father?” But the misinformation didn’t stop there.
In addition to regurgitating the untrue Life & Style claims, HollywoodLies actually added to them with its own made-up follow-up stories later Wednesday and on Thursday. One such headline read, “Khloe Kardashian Pregnant With Lamar Odom’s Baby? How He Feels About Report.” And another said, “Khloe Kardashian & Odell Beckham Jr.: Is He The Father Of Rumored Baby? The Truth.”
Then came the flip-flop late Thursday night: “Khloe Kardashian Pregnant With First Child? The Truth Revealed,” blared the webloid, which touted “EXCLUSIVE scoop on whether or not the reality star is actually carrying a bun in the oven. A so-called “source” was quoted as saying what Gossip Cop already reported: Kardashian is not pregnant.
Why did HollywoodLies’ “exclusive” denial come more than 24 hours after Gossip Cop had the real exclusive? Simple: Rather than immediately fact-checking or picking up our accurate reporting, the bad blog wanted to milk the tabloid-fueled possibility of Kardashian being pregnant for traffic purposes.
And why didn’t HollywoodLife give Gossip Cop credit for correctly busting the pregnancy claim? That’s simple, too. The outlet knew Kardashian wasn’t pregnant because of our investigating, but wanted to make it seem like it had its own Kardashian sources. But based on the site’s terrible track record, those seemingly don’t exist.
So instead, HollywoodLife lies, flip-flops, and steals. See the initial Kardashian headline above, and all the rest below to see how this fake saga went down.
