Peter Jackson Officially Set to Direct ‘The Hobbit’

BREAKING!
After numerous setbacks, The Hobbit has been given the green light, with Peter Jackson‘s deal as director finalized and production expected to begin in February.
An unresolved labor issue in New Zealand, where the two-part epic had been set to film, is the only remaining hurdle to clear.
Jackson, of course, adapted Hobbit author J.R.R. Tolkien‘s “Lord of the Rings” series into a wildly successful film franchise.
Guillermo del Toro was attached to the project before leaving in May.
