Hillary Clinton Sent Lester Holt Hand Signals During Debate?!
Did Hillary Clinton send Lester Holt hand signals during the presidential debate?! That’s the outrageous claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the wild accusation.
As Gossip Cop reported, last month Clinton and Donald Trump participated in the first presidential debate, which was moderated by Holt. Now, more than a week after the event, the National Enquirer is branding the former First Lady a “dirty debater.” It’s claimed there’s video that shows Clinton was in “cahoots” with Holt to “take down Donald.”
“A comprehensive video has surfaced that rather convincingly shows Hillary using hand signals like a third-base baseball coach to prompt Lester to quickly call on her to counter comments made by Donald Trump,” a so-called “source” claims to the supermarket tabloid. The alleged tipster goes on, “In a move lifted right out of a ‘Cheating for Dummies’ book, Hillary Clinton is seen scratching her nose and face to signal Lester Holt several times.”
It’s rather odd that this “source” would go from referring to “Hillary” and “Lester” to “Hillary Clinton” and “Lester Holt” in the very next quote. It’s also odd that in the time since the debate took place, no major news outlet has authenticated any such video proving Clinton and Holt had secret hand signals. And to the contrary, non-partisan outlets like Snopes shut down such rumors just two days after the debate.
It’s also worth noting that Trump made his fair share of gestures, too. Furthermore, since the two candidates were on opposite sides of the stage, angled towards each other, Holt would’ve had to spend a noticeably large amount of time focused on Clinton if he were to actually catch her supposed signals.
Simply put, there is no legitimate evidence to prove she was using hand signals, just like there is no proof to back up the National Enquirer’s claim that Clinton has “deadly health conditions,” including muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s and brain damage. It’s only the magazine’s “reporting” that’s damaged.
