Looks like Lauren Conrad has some competition.
Hilary Duff will write a series of young adult novels for Simon & Schuster, it was announced on Tuesday. The first book, “Elixir,” will feature the adventures of photojournalist Clea Raymond.
It is due to hit shelves in October.
Duff also plans to pen a nonfiction book about children dealing with divorce, a subject she has written about before in her songs.

I don’t think this is necessarily a bad idea, but it says she WILL write a book and that it’s due in October. Is 8 months enough time to write a book? I don’t know. It’ll be interesting to read though!
maybe she has been thinking about the story for a while and has a good part of it written already. 8 months is plenty of time
