Highest-Paid Musicians 2015: Katy Perry Tops Forbes List (PHOTOS)
Katy Perry topped the 2015 Forbes ranking of the highest-paid musicians in the world, earning an estimated $135 million over the past 12 months. Check out the photo gallery below of who else made the Top 10 list and how much each earned!
Perry shot to the top of the list mostly thanks to her Prismatic World Tour, for which she earned more than $2 million per city. The singer also has endorsement deals with Claire’s, Coty and Covergirl. Ranking in at number two was One Direction with an estimated $130 million, making the boy band the top earning music group in the world.
Garth Brooks nabbed the number three spot with $90 million. The country music superstar came out of semi-retirement last year to launch a world tour, for which he grossed more than $1 million per show. Number four on the list is Taylor Swift with $80 million thanks to a great extent to her 1989 album, which sold over 3.6 million copies, and the subsequent tour, which grosses as much as $4 million per city. Rounding out the top five was the classic rock band The Eagles, whose History of the Eagles tour helped them earn $73.5 million.
