“High School Musical” Reunion On “GMA” — WATCH VIDEO HERE!
The cast of “High School Musical” reunited for an interview featured on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America” to celebrate the movie’s 10th anniversary. Watch below!
The Disney Channel original film premiered on January 20, 2006. To mark the milestone, a special rebroadcast will air on Wednesday with footage of the cast reuniting. But on “GMA,” fans got a sneak peek of what’s to come. The most noticeable thing?
That would be Zac Efron’s absence. Instead of joining Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu, and Lucas Grabeel in person, he submitted a taped message for fans. In the “GMA” exceprt, he enthusiastically says, “This is only 10 years — let’s have a billion more! I love you guys!”
Of course, Efron and Hudgens were a couple during their “HSM” days, which consisted of two additional movies, including one released in theaters. But that’s not the only thing that’s changed. “At one point it literally felt like we were The Beatles,” recalls Hudgens. “Now it’s like we can go to the coffee store and we’re completely left alone.”
Tisdale shares, “We have tons of other friends, but they don’t understand what we’ve been a part of, and it’s like this connection between all of us.” And Bleu marvels that, despite finding fame at such a young age, none of them went “completely off the rails.” Check out the full video below!
