Heidi Klum & Seal: “We Have Decided to Separate”

Heidi Klum and Seal have “decided to separate.”

In a statement furnished to Gossip Cop, the couple says, “While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.”

“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart,” the statement notes, adding, “This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.”

They conclude, “We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

The couple has four kids — Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou.

On Staurday, Gossip Cop reported their relationship had been in trouble for some time, and that they were going to divorce.

    I am very very sad for these two. I always thought that, finally, two people in Hollywood who genuinely love each other. The statement says they’ve grown apart. Maybe someday they can find each other again.

    Totally agree – I thought they’d make it; they seemed so genuine, especially with their annual vow renewals. I hope they realize how much they belong together – the heart growing finder stuff.

    I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but I always felt like they tried too hard to prove that this was solid. There is no need to renew wedding vows every year. But it’s still sad to hear about a divorce/separation when kids are involved.

    I figured that was the reason for the split. It’s the most common reason marriages fail. Two people grow apart until they have nothing in common but the kids any more, and the kids aren’t enough to keep them together.

    A friend of mine is a personal friend of one of the VS Angels. The year Heid and Seal were on stage we said that they seemed so much in love and so very cute together. It always makes me sad when lovely people just lose interest in each other. Marriage is real work, hard work, sometimes we hate the one we are with and the next day we don’t know how we could ever live without them. Life is hare, divorce is the easy way out. Very sad that they didn’t remember what they first loved about each other……my prayers are for the children, especially Heidi’s first child from another man. The poor little thing must be suffering because Mommy lost interest in two men. Prayers for the kid. ♥

    Maybe some day you people will realize that romantic/passionate love isn’t what marriage is all about. Marriage has lost all of its rationality and practicality. Modern marriage is a pathetic institution.
