Hayden Panettiere: My Nashville Character Is NOT Based on Taylor Swift

Hayden Panettiere may be playing a young, blonde country-pop singer on the new show “Nashville” — but don’t assume her character is based on a certain superstar.

“I’ve heard the Taylor Swift thing quite a bit,” Panettiere told reporters during a Television Critics Association event on Friday.

But the actress said the comparison is off-base.

Panettiere explained, “I think aside from being around the same age and blonde… they’re very different. I think once you see her and get to know [my character] a little bit better, you’ll see that.”

She added, “I really think Taylor would disagree wholeheartedly as well. She’s much nicer than my character.”

Given how Panettiere’s Juliette Barnes seems to revel in questionable, manipulative behavior in the show’s trailer, we’re guessing Swift is happy to have any comparisons put to rest.

“Nashville,” pitting Panettiere’s up-and-comer against a veteran country music headliner played by Connie Britton, premieres in October.

    I think the aging singer is based on Faith over the Hill who is pushing 50 and is furious that her career is over, except for what ever her Second Husband, Tim McGraw, can arrange for her. She was replaced by Carrie Underwood who is more than 20 years younger. Faith over the Hill FREAKED OUT on camera at the CMA Awards several years ago when Carrie Underwood beat her out for Best Female Vocalist. Faith over the Hill snarled, sneered, and stomped! She has not been able to sell any records after that and her last CDs went absolutely nowhere. She is having a hard time dealing with her failing career, not that she needs the money. We dont see much of Patti Loveless, Tanya Tucker, Barbara Mandrell, Trisha Yearwood or Janie Frickie. Maybe it is time that Faith over the Hill stayed home and raised her 3 kids, and time she got rid of her First Husband’s last name. Yes, she was married to Dan Hill for 7 years, but she is now Mrs. McGraw isnt she?????
