Harry Connick Jr. is NOT having a hard time booking talk show guests, despite a report. Gossip Cop can help set the record straight.

On Friday, The Wrap blared in a headline, “Harry Connick Jr’s Talk Show Scrambles for Guests – Even ‘Idol’ Judge JLo Won’t Commit.” According to the accompanying hit piece, Connick is “having a tough time getting famous friends to turn up for his new daytime talk show.” It’s specifically alleged that Sandra Bullock is among a number of “A-listers to blow off” the upcoming series.

But Gossip Cop has learned the story couldn’t be further from the truth. While the outlet claimed Sandra Bullock, Connick’s Hope Floats co-star, hasn’t “said yes,” she’s actually confirmed to appear on the show’s September 12th premiere. And far from struggling to land top celebrities, Connick and his talk show staff have rounded up a slew of A-list names for the first two weeks of the show.

Stars committed to appearing on the program include Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, Kristen Bell and John Stamos. But rather than wait for the official announcement of confirmed guests, The Wrap apparently chose to run a premature and misleading tale, one that primarily focused on stars who, frankly, are only unable to do the show simply because they have other professional obligations right now. For instance, both Justin Bieber and Keith Urban were singled out, even though they’ll be on tour, and Jennifer Lopez, who is shooting “Shades Of Blue.”

“It’s such B.S.,” a source tells Gossip Cop of The Wrap’s mean-spirited take, further saying, “The Wrap is now turning into TMZ shameless journalism!” Also, since Connick hasn’t taped a single episode of his show yet, how about we reserve judgment for a bit?
