Harrison Ford PLANE CRASH: Actor Hurt After Crashing Airplane On Golf Course (VIDEO)
Harrison Ford survived a plane crash on Thursday, Gossip Cop confirms. The actor was piloting a vintage 2-seater airplane when he encountered trouble and crashed on the Penmar Golf Course in Venice, California. He was hurt but is alive. The LAPD now says he’s in “fair to moderate condition.” See video from the crash below.
Ford had multiple cuts to his head and bleeding when two physicians who were at the course ran over to help him. After emergency personnel rushed to the scene, Ford was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No injuries to other people have been reported at this time. According to the police, Ford was “alert, conscious and breathing” when he was transported to the hospital.
The movie star’s rep says in a statement, “Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He was banged up and is in the hospital receiving medical care. The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery.”
Ford’s son Ben also tweeted an update, saying, “At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.” He added, “Thank you all for your thoughts and good vibes for my day.”
Audio has also emerged in which Ford, talking to the Santa Monica Airport control tower just after take-off, says he has engine failure and needs to make an emergency return. While no official cause of the crash has been announced yet, it is indeed believed to have been a mechanical issue. An investigation is ongoing.
This isn’t the first time Ford, a longtime aviator, has crashed an aircraft. Back in October 1999, the actor crashed a helicopter while flying over Lake Piru in Ventura County, California. He was on a training flight with an instructor when the smashed the helicopter into the ground. Thankfully, in that instance, Ford and the instructor pilot did not suffer any injuries. The helicopter, however, was smashed.
Gossip Cop will have updates. See video of the scene below.
