Yesterday, Halle Berry, her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, and their daughter Nahla were pulled out of a long line at a Montreal airport, and whisked through security while others waited for more than an hour.
Canadian police have already acknowledged that an officer gave them preferential treatment, but stressed it was not the department’s policy or something that’s condoned.
The reality, however, is that celebrities often get escorted through airports – sometimes for legitimate safety reasons, and other times simply because they’re famous.
What Gossip Cop was most interested in was whether Berry herself played a role in this. Was it at her behest or was she simply the beneficiary of an adoring police officer?
After calling and e-mailing around, we tip our hat to Berry, who we were told absolutely did not ask for any special treatment.
Meanwhile, the officer who hooked up Berry, her boyfriend and daughter has already learned his lesson, and will not be punished.
