Gwyneth Paltrow took to her lifestyle website Goop this weekend to discuss how negativity has the power to alter the molecular structure of water.

The Oscar winner wrote that she is “fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter.”

“I have long had Dr. Emoto’s coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it,” she explained.

Masaru Emoto is a controversial Japanese author who believes human consciousness can change the molecular structure of water.

Although his research is widely criticized as being pseudoscience, Paltrow enlisted Dr. Habib Sadeghi to explain Emoto’s theory further on her website.
