Gwyneth Paltrow Hosts President Obama At Fundraiser, Gushes He’s “So Handsome I Can’t Speak Properly”
Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a star-studded fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee on Thursday, headlined by none other than President Obama. The event, the second Paltrow has hosted tied to Obama, took place at the Oscar winner’s own home in Brentwood, California. Tickets reportedly cost $1,000 to $32,400, with Julia Roberts said to be among the 200 attendees.
Introducing Obama to the crowd, Paltrow gushed, “I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest.” She touted Obama’s presidency, and encouraged midterm election votes that will help him pass legislation. “So anyway, I’ll shut up now and just say welcome and thank you and we’re so excited and you’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly,” Paltrow rambled in her conclusion.
Obama went on to make a speech that referenced Paltrow’s two kids when he discussed the Ebola outbreak. “I want to assure everybody that the likelihood of any epidemic here in the United States is extraordinarily small, but there’s a humanitarian crisis that’s happening right now in West Africa where children not much older, and in some cases younger than, Apple and Moses are dying on the streets alone,” said the President. Paltrow had earlier said it was “profound honor” to have Obama in the home she shares with Apple and Moses, and the Commander-in-Chief thanked them for “letting us crash your house.”
