Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton Wedding Invitation Is Fake
The new cover of OK! announces, “Blake & Gwen Getting Married!” The magazine purports to have a “world exclusive,” with the front of the new edition prominently featuring what’s said to be the “official invitation.” But it’s an official lie.
The supposed invitation is also featured in full inside the issue, with it being said the magazine has “learned the two stars are, indeed, scheduled to tie the knot, in a big, blowout event… In fact, we’ve seen the invitation (reproduced at right!).” Yes, readers are supposed to believe that the same tabloid that has run multiple false pregnancy and wedding stories for the last year has managed to get a hold of Stefani and Shelton’s wedding invite.
They haven’t. It’s a FAKE, a rep for Stefani exclusively confirms to Gossip Cop. And the rest of the details about these alleged nuptials are fake, too. “The blessed event is set to take place next May, at a Catholic church in Beverly Hills that’s served as the setting for quite a few other celebrity ceremonies through the years,” claims the publication, which also alleges Stefani is “footing the bill for the $3 million extravaganza” with a reception at a nearby hotel.
The guest list is said to include Adam Levine, Pharrell, Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan, among other stars. There’s even speculation that the couple’s respective exes, Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, will be invited. But it’s all lies on top of lies.
Stefani and Shelton may marry one day. These specifics, however, are fiction and made up. Or, as Stefani’s own rep tells Gossip Cop, the cover story is “untrue.” OK! probably expects readers to forget all these claims by the time May actually rolls around. But don’t worry — we won’t.
