As Gossip Cop reported, “Used to Love You” is Sefani’s emotional new single, which was released last month. The song is widely believed to be about her estranged husband Gavin Rossdale, whom she was married to for 13 years before separating in August. Although the singer hasn’t confirmed whether or not the lyrics are specifically about Rossdale, she did admit that the song was inspired by recent events in her life.
Of course, Stefani has also been making headlines lately for her relationship with “The Voice” co-judge Blake Shelton, who she began dating earlier this month. Several outlets incorrectly reported he would be sitting with her at the American Music Awards, but Shelton was not actually in attendance. The couple, however, will reunite on Monday for a live broadcast of “The Voice.”
Though not nominated for any awards this year, Stefani is no stranger to the AMAs. She and No Doubt were nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock New Artist back in 1997. Check out video of the “Used To Love You” performance below!
