Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton “On The Rocks” Report False
Like its sister publication In Touch, Life & Style believes Stefani and Shelton’s relationship is “showing signs of strain.” Failing to mention how they spent his birthday together last weekend, the outlet claims the couple has been “noticeably apart” lately. “Pals are worried about the state of their union — and fear that the duo’s planned summer wedding if off,” writes the magazine.
Of course, there was never a “planned summer wedding” in the first place. And rather than provide readers with accurate information, the publication has essentially printed the same story as In Touch, just with slightly different language. Here’s the proof:
Life & Style: “They’re just very different people and it feels like the end of their relationship could be soon. They’re clearly on the rocks.”
In Touch: “Gwen and Blake are starting to realize that they are very different people… They’re on the rocks.”
Life & Style: “Blake’s life is in Oklahoma, not L.A. He misses his home and friends. But Gwen is very much a California girl.”
In Touch: “Gwen is a California girl and can’t see herself living anywhere else, while Blake is a country boy whose life is in Oklahoma on his ranch… He misses his home and his friends.”
Life & Style: “Gwen feels like she may have rushed into things. There’s just so much driving them apart.”
In Touch: “They may have rushed into things — there is just so much driving them apart.”
Wow, suspicious much? Gossip Cop has seen the two sister outlets run nearly identical stories in different issues, but usually not in the same week. We busted the In Touch version on Friday, and now we can do the same with the Life & Style report.
Stefani and Shelton’s relationship may indeed “end” at some point down the road. But the happy couple isn’t there yet, nor are they “on the rocks.” The tabloids, which have run countless pregnancy and marriage stories about the stars, simply picked a different, but equally untrue, sensational angle to take this week.
