Gwen Stefani Gets Restraining Order Against Fan Who Threatened Suicide
Gwen Stefani has received a restraining order against an obsessed fan who threatened suicide, the same person who recently tried to follow the star to a medical clinic.
As Gossip Cop reported, Stefani called the police last month after Richard Portnoy sent a series of messages allegedly vowing to show up at her Los Angeles acupuncture clinic. The singer, who had her 1-year-old son Apollo with her at the time, was spooked enough to call the authorities, but as it turns out, that was far from the only creepy incident. In fact, according to court papers, Portnoy has showed up at Stefani’s home multiple times.
Portnoy, who is said to be rich and enjoy a luxurious lifestyle, would allegedly come bearing gifts, such as flowers and candy. The man also allegedly wrote Stefani a letter offering to essentially rescue her from her supposedly unhappy life. Most disturbingly, however, is the suicide allegation.
According to the court declarations, during one of Portnoy’s unwelcome visits to Stefani’s home, he told the singer’s father that he had seen photos of Stefani appearing to trip, and if she had injured herself, he would not be able to go on living. Stefani’s father himself actually secured a stay-away order against Portnoy two weeks ago, after the guy allegedly showed up at his house, too.
Now, reports TMZ, Stefani has been granted a three-year restraining order of her own. Very, very, scary.
