Gwen Stefani: I Didn’t Know Who Blake Shelton Was Before “The Voice” (VIDEO)
Stefani makes the confession on Friday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where she’s grilled about her new romance with Shelton. Stefani was actually the first to bring up “The Voice,” which gave the host the perfect opportunity to “dance around the subject” everyone really wanted to talk about. “You’re happy and you’re having fun?” asked DeGeneres.
Stefani replied affirmatively, saying, “I’m having lots of fun.” She then let out a big “woah” as a photo of herself and Shelton appeared on the screen behind them (see above right). “I don’t where that came from,” joked DeGeneres.
After DeGeneres paid Shelton a few compliments, that’s when Stefani admitted, “I didn’t even know who he was before I was on the show.” The confession surprised the host and sparked laughter from the audience. “I’m an O.C. girl, like what would I know?” Stefani pointed out.
She went on to call Shelton a “musical jukebox,” but DeGeneres interjected to ask, “And he’s a good kisser, or no?” Now it was Stefani’s turn to laugh. “Wow,” she exclaimed to the comedienne. “You’re so awesome.” Watch the full segment below!
