Gwen Stefani Opens Up To Jimmy Kimmel About Blake Shelton Romance: “Something Beautiful” Came From “Tragedy” (VIDEO)
Shelton came up as Stefani and Kimmel discussed her live music video for “Make Me Like You,” with the host pointing out that the set featured a neon sign that said “Blake’s.” He amusingly asked, “Now was that for Blake Lively or Blake Griffin?” After Stefani laughed, she deadpanned, “That was just a coincidence. I don’t know why they put that. That was weird.”
But asked point-blank if the song is about Shelton, Stefani giggled again, and confirmed that it is. “I will admit that that song is about that guy, yeah,” she told Kimmel. She went on to say, “What’s so crazy is like sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful.”
“This whole album is about trying to take something that was awful,” Stefani continued, referring to her split from Gavin Rossdale, “and just, I don’t know, healing from it, and then turning it into something beautiful.”
Stefani also reflected on her first trip to the Grammys, and revealed the surprising way she found out her No Doubt band members have started a new group. Watch all the videos below!
