Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton Fighting Over “The Voice”?
Are Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton fighting over “The Voice”? That’s what a certain webloid is claiming. Gossip Cop can exclusively reveal the truth.
“‘Honeymoon’s Over!’ Gwen & Blake Caught ‘Arguing’ On ‘The Voice’ Set,” reads a headline from RadarOnline. According to the accompanying story, “as the battle rounds continue to heat up on NBC’s hit singing reality competition show,” the “REAL battle is being waged backstage, between celebrity couple judges Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton!” A so-called “production insider” claims the two are “actually becoming really competitive with each other this season.”
Asserts the site’s supposed source, “Whereas they used to help each other and kind of be on the same team, they are both really out to win it this time around.” The disreputable online publication goes on to repeat the already-debunked claim about the couple getting a “massive cash bonus to keep their flirtation going strong on the current season.” But “that has not been easy” for them to do, contends the outlet.
“They have been arguing a lot backstage when the cameras are not rolling,” the purported tipster alleges. “Blake and Gwen are not calling each other cutesy names like they used to and they are not acting all lovey-dovey like they have been in the past!”
But there’s a lot of red flags in this story. As anyone who’s watched this season’s Blind Auditions knows, Shelton and Stefani have flirtatiously referenced their romance quite a bit on camera. Second, while RadarOnline says “the battle rounds continue to heat up,” they actually don’t even start airing until next week. They were also filmed quite a while ago, so the timing of this report makes no sense.
Lastly, as alluded to above, the webloid has a history of making up stories about Shelton and Stefani when it comes to “The Voice.” In addition to Gossip Cop previously calling out the aforementioned untrue “bonus” claim, we also busted the site for a falsified story last month that alleged Shelton and Stefani were annoying “The Voice” crew with their “lovefest.” It’s pretty suspicious that just weeks later, the same outlet is claiming there isn’t a lovefest at all.
It’s quite clear RadarOnline doesn’t care about accuracy nor consistency. But Gossip Cop does, and a rep for Stefani exclusively tells Gossip Cop she and Shelton are NOT fighting on or off camera at “The Voice.”
