Gwen Stefani Changes Last Name From “Rossdale” Back To Maiden Surname
As Gossip Cop has reported, Stefani and Rossdale wed in 2002. Following the nuptials, the No Doubt front woman opted to keep using “Stefani” professionally as her stage name. But for legal purposes, she changed to “Rossdale” to have the same surname as her husband.
Stefani, however, filed for divorce from Rossdale last August. And while the official dissolution of the marriage is still pending, a judge has granted the star’s request to go back to “Stefani” on legal documents, such as on her driver’s license and passport. “The Voice” coach has not publicly commented on the change.
The news comes on the same day Harper’s Bazaar released its new cover story on Stefani. In the interview, the songstress said of the breakup, “My dreams were shattered. All I wanted my whole life was to have babies, be married, like what my parents have. Then I remember thinking, ‘There’s gotta be a reason for this.'”
Stefani ended up channeling her feelings into her recent album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like, and has been dating Blake Shelton for more than six months. Stefani is pictured above with Rossdale in 2014.
