Greta Van Susteren On Ariana Grande: “It Isn’t Enough To Say You’re Sorry” (VIDEO)
Greta Van Susteren says Ariana Grande’s two apologies for her infamous donut incident are not “enough.” Check out the video below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Grande went to a California donut shop on July 4, where surveillance cameras caught her licking the donuts on display, and exclaiming “I hate America.” The footage leaked earlier this week, after which Grande was blasted both for her anti-American comments, and for her gross behavior. Grande initially offered an apology statement on Wednesday, in which she blamed her outburst over rage at America’s growing obesity problem.
She didn’t stop the backlash much, though, leading her to offer a second apology on Thursday. In that one, Grande filmed herself in a video for fans, saying she took full responsibility for her actions. But for Van Susteren, the pop star still needs to do more.
Discussing the controversy on her show “On The Record,” the Fox News personality began, “What a stupid thing to do and say. But let’s face it. She’s young, dopey, and a bit of a diva. She will grow out of it.” Van Susteren , however, went on to say that while she “bought” Grande’s video apology, “frankly, it isn’t enough to say sorry after you’ve been caught. You need to really prove it.”
“And she can,” continued the TV host. “She can use her natural talents to sing a patriotic song. Even Lee Greenwood’s ‘God Bless U.S.A.’ He said to give her the chance. Maybe she should ask to do a duet with him. Now hat would be fun. Or she could go spend the day with actor Gary Sinese, building homes for injured vets.”
Van Susteren concluded, “So, Grande’s video apology, that’s a good start, but she needs to prove it with actions, and then, the rest of us can just get over it.” Watch the full video below, and tell us what you think.
