Grace VanderWaal “Today” Show Video: Watch ‘I Don’t Know My Name’ Performance
Grace VanderWaal performed “I Don’t Know My Name” on the “Today” show on Monday. Check out the video below!
VanderWaal’s appearance on the morning show comes two months after she won season 11 of “America’s Got Talent.” The 12-year-old now has a record deal, and will be releasing her first EP next month. And just days ago, VanderWaal performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Before her performance on “Today,” it was pointed out the rising star will turn 13 soon, but she charmingly spoke about feeling “stuck” as her younger self. “I never went into seventh grade. I am now homeschooled,” VanderWaal explained to the co-hosts. “I’m stuck in sixth grade. I can’t get it out of my mind.”
She adorably went on, “You know when you have a birthday, and you’re like, ‘I’m 9 — 10!’ I don’t correct myself. I’m just like, ‘Hi, I’m a sixth grader!'” Of course, VanderWaal is actually much wiser than her age and schooling level would suggest. Still, the tween (and soon-to-be teen!) brought her mom to the set, and she amusingly tried to hide from the cameras after her talented daughter performed.
Next up for VanderWaal is an “America’s Got Talent” holiday special airing on December 19. Gossip Cop will have full coverage. Watch the “Today” performance below!
