Google has revealed its year-end “Google Zeitgeist” lists, which show what 2011’s most-searched terms were across a number of areas.

The top pop culture searches in the United States produced some interesting results.

For instance: Rebecca Black, only famous because of the Internet and viral culture, was the “fastest-rising” person search of the year – beating out Scotty McCreery, who rose to prominence via old media on “American Idol.”

Also interesting: the most searched “breakup” of 2011 – “Justin and Selena” – never actually happened.
