The Golden Globes red carpet was flooded on Sunday afternoon after a sewage pipe burst at the Beverly Hilton.

Around 12:30 PST, lights set off an alarm system that sprayed sewage and water all over the red carpet, damaging the set up and some cameras.

Fireman attended to the spill and cleaned up the scene as best they could.

Ryan Seacrest shared photos of the soaked red carpet on Twitter (see below), writing, “Could be bad for long gowns.”

A rep for the Beverly Hilton and Hollywood Foreign Press Association tells Gossip Cop, “We can confirm that there was a malfunction with a sprinkler near the red carpet. The situation was quickly resolved.”

The spokesperson continues, “Despite the incident the red carpet will open at its regularly scheduled time. As some of the biggest names in entertainment are scheduled to attend Golden Globe Awards tonight, we wanted to give the carpet one last wash before it opened.”
