As Gossip Cop has reported, the anchors of the morning news show dress up in costume each year to celebrate the spooky holiday. This year, Lara Spencer went as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Alexander Hamilton or, as she called herself, “Lara-zander Hamilton.” She even did a rap to go along with her character.
At one point, Spencer introduced a short film called “Good Morning American Horror Story,” which featured members of the “GMA” team. Robin Roberts, George Stephanopolous, Amy Robach and others spoofed various characters from different TV and movies. Roberts’ character, for example, was a take on “Stranger Things,” while Ginger Zee parodied Poltergeist. There was also a mini-Michael Strahan (video below).
Later in the show, two teams of kids went on a haunted version of Pokemon Go. One team was led by Alfonso Ribeiro and the other by Sara Haines. Among the characters they found were Robach as Sia, Maksim Chmerkovskiy as The Joker and Peta Murgatroyd as Harley Quinn, Gio Benitez as Jigglypuff, and Michael Strahan was a giant Pikachu (video below).
After that, “GMA” personalities T.J. Holmes dressed as Madea and Jesse Palmer as Captain American played “$100,000 Fear-Amid,” in which they needed answer horror-related questions. Watch the 2016 “GMA” Halloween video below!
