“Glee” GQ Photos Blasted by Parents Group as Bordering on “Pedophilia”

(GQ)

A parents group is blasting “Glee” for its sexy GQ magazine cover story and photo shoot.

The Parents Television Council says the spread featuring Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith, in which the two female cast members pose provocatively in school settings, “borders on pedophilia.”

“It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on ‘Glee’ in this way,” reads a statement from the council.

It’s worth pointing out that Michele and Agron are both 24 years old, although they depict teenagers on the show.

You can see the FULL photo spread here and judge for yourself.

What do YOU think?

Does the Parents Television Council have a point, or is it an overreaction?

    The Parent Television Coucil thinks that 24-year-old women in their panties will make men lust after children? I don’t think so.

    Do you even know what a fetish is. There’s a whole market in p.rn, that has grown women dressing up as little girls, for just this purpose, to incite lust in men who get off on that. Will they go out and molest children because of it? Probably not, but that’s not the point. The POINT, is why are the adult actresses on this show, feeding this sexual fetishcizing of minors, of CHILDREN. This spread is disgusting, and the these actresses/actor should be ashamed of themselves. I have no problem with 24 year old adults posing nude and being sexy, but why do they need to portray their KID characters in a SCHOOL?? When you PLAY A CHILD in A SCHOOL on TV, and then you take your child role, and hypersexualize it in a men’s magazine, complete with lollipops, school lockers, books, backpacks and tube knee socks it’s called SEXUALLY FETISHIZING children/minors. Like we don’t already have enough of a problem with child molestation as it is. Kids getting snatched from bus stops. Yet some of these ignorant losers are saying it’s okay to have adults portraying their 15 yr old characters on TV, splay their crotches in a photo shoot on changing benches in the school gym. This is sick.

    @golightly

    take note of your “name”, and act on it. Was the GQ interviewer/photographer interviewing/photographing teenagers? No. Furthermore, why should something be wrong, just because it can possibly be perceived in a way consistent to your own personal cynicism of humanity? Why do you feel your view should be prostituted in a comments section of a gossip website? Child molestation is a disgusting and deplorable subject that should not be treaded (go)lightly.

    The fact is you are either voicing that opinion in order to create conflict and a nuisance for your own self-gratification, or you actually believe the some of ridiculous (and libellous) things you typed above, and either one makes you a very ignorant, close minded and irresponsible person. The whole point is that they are 24, Cory Monteith (sp?) is about 27! You do not mention him, can only men be predators? On another note, does his age make him an accessory to the exploitation of minor males by women? Absolutely not! Those are serious issues. Glee is a TV sitcom/drama about a high school singing club. YOUR ignorance is in the way your mind automatically combines sexuality of teenagers with forced horror. Get your mind out of the gutter, and stop attempting to project that sexist, xenophobic, stereotyping attitude.

    Quick, lets censor nappy ads, Target kids ads and televised gymnastics. No wait, swimming is kind of suss too – knock that from televised events. Wait – everyone that looks under the age of 18 or plays someone under the age of 18 should live life in a sack that covers us from necks to knees.

    It’s this simple – if you don’t like it, don’t allow it in your family’s home. Don’t call my room mate a pedo because he finds Miss Michelle or Miss Argon sexually attractive. And don’t insult my intelligence or the intelligence of kids I know by saying, “oh, but they play children on TV therefore we’re all stupid enough to believe that’s their age”.

    Anyone who looks at those actors and honestly believes they look like they’re high school age knows some very mature looking children. As a uni student, i think the “classroom setting” looks much more like a College setting. Perhaps people like this should put their energy into anti-bullying campaigns and equal opportunity education options rather than hitting an easy target like this. It’s just stupid.
