Gisele Bundchen Retiring From Runway, Final Show Will Be During Sao Paulo Fashion Week
Gisele Bundchen is retiring from the catwalk this spring. The 34-year-old fashion model will reportedly walk her final runway show in April during Sao Paulo Fashion Week.
According to Moda Estadao, Bundchen’s last runway show will be on April 20 for the Brazilian fashion company Colcci. Bundchen, who year after year has been highest-paid model in the world, will wear the design house’s summer 2016 collection. The outlet notes that the model has always wanted to end her runway career in her native Brazil.
Bundchen has been a runway staple for more than years, appearing in shows around the world for Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel and Alexander McQueen, to name just a very few. She was also a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 2000 to 2007.
For some time now, Bundchen has scaled back on doing runway shows, hinting at a departure from the catwalk. Most recently, she graced the runway in September for Chanel’s spring 2015 show and also strutted in Colcci’s Sao Paulo Fashion Week winter show in November. Bundchen has yet to publicly comment on the news. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for the model for confirmation.
It should be noted, Bundchen, a mother of two, is not ending her modeling career. She will still appear in campaign ads and fashion spreads. What do you think about Bundchen reportedly retiring from the runway after 20 years?
