“Boy Meets World” Sequel Series In Development; Original Stars Could Return

“Boy Meets World” could be coming back (kind of).

A sequel series to the beloved 1990s sitcom — called “Girl Meets World” — is reportedly in the early stages of development at The Disney Channel.

The proposed show would revolve around the preteen daughter of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, the characters portrayed by Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel on the original series.

Savage and Fishel are reportedly being courted to reprise their roles for “Girl Meets World,” according to TV Line.

It should be noted that nothing has been confirmed yet in terms of casting, and the project has yet to reach the pilot stage.

“Boy Meets World” ran from 1993 to 2000, teaching a generation how to learn and love.

    I just ask that Disney does not destroy the original concepts which everyone fell in love with. I don’t want it like the shows on Disney Channel which I don’t feel have the same reality and real truth to the world that shows in the 90s had. I love this show and I grew up with it. Please bring this show back, but bring it back true to form or it will backfire

    I agree. I’d love to see it if they got some of the original cast. If not, at my age, I probably wouldn’t be watching a Disney Channel show.

    I’m excited but I wished another network would take over like ABC family or the CW because I feel some topics would be ignored or downplayed if it becomes part of the Disney channel.

    I like the idea but I prefer a boy instead of a girl. If it stays girl meets world, that’s good. I hope they make it as good as the original and I see the cast. I soo want to see hire Eric fairs as an uncle. That would be hilarious.

    Disney should definitely revised this show. As long as they dont lose the original quirks of the show that made it what it was. Sitcoms today are nothing like the BOOM they were in the 90′s. And it would be refreshing to get back to some of those shows.
