On Tuesday, Gina Gershon was slapped with a lawsuit by her former agents, who claim she owes them a 10 percent commission for securing her a starring role in the Broadway play “Boeing Boeing.” The agents, who used to work at a company called Innovative Artists – and then sued that company to get out of their contracts so they could form another agency named Fortitude – stated in their papers that Gershon made “hundreds of thousand of dollars” from the show.
Last night Gossip Cop received a statement from Gershon’s rep that read: “This lawsuit is completely without merit. Gina Gershon paid full commission to her representatives, talent agency Innovative Artists… who helped her book the Broadway play, ‘Boeing Boeing.’”
Well today, after some investigation, this is what we learned.
(1) The litigants, who used to work at Innovative Artists, did not get Gershon the gig, and therefore don’t have a claim to the commission. (And we’re told there’s a paper trail to prove it.)
(2) Gershon already paid the 10 percent commission to the agent who did book her on Broadway.
(3) Gershon was a Fortitude client for around eight weeks. However, for the jobs the litigants did get Gershon during her brief stint with Fortitude – she paid them.
(4) The litigants claim Gershon made “hundreds of thousands of dollars.” Seriously?! It’s Broadway, and Gossip Cop has heard that number is WAY off.
Gossip Cop rests its case.
