‘Ghostbusters’ Trailer: Kristen Wiig And Melissa McCarthy Get Slimed In Reboot – WATCH!
The first trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot has just been released online, and it features homages to the original movie while putting a new twist on an old concept. Watch the first preview for the all-female Ghostbusters below!
Reminiscent of the first movie, the trailer opens with a scene set in a library and features Kristen Wiig’s character approaching a female apparition, which responds by spewing her with ectoplasm (better known as green slime). Wiig, who plays a particle physicist, announces to her teammates, played by Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon, that the ghost’s ooze went “in every crack.” Leslie Jones co-stars in the film as an MTA worker who joins the team after encountering a ghost, and Chris Hemsworth plays the Ghostbusters’ secretary.
A new twist revealed in the trailer sees the ghosts having the ability to possess human form, leading to a hilarious gag in which Jones’ characters has to slap a ghost out of McCarthy. There are also glimpses of the new Ghostbuster-mobile, updated proton packs and the team’s revamped Manhattan headquarters. Although they’re not seen in the preview, original Ghostbusters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson will all make cameo appearances.
The sci-fi comedy reboot was directed written and directed by Paul Feig, who also helmed Bridesmaids, Spy and The Heat. Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15. Watch the first trailer below!
