Despite some of the signs against it, Get Out scared its way to number one, with ticket sales of $30.5 million. In the process, it pushed Lego Batman to the second spot, after it had won the past two weekends, with a take of $19 million. John Wick 2 jumped a bit in the box office to secure the third position with $9 million.
Meanwhile, Matt Damon’s The Great Wall crumbled a tiny bit more and finished in fourth place, with around $8.7 million in receipts. The movie, starring James Dornan and Dakota Johnson, fell from two to number five this week, with a haul of $7.7 million.
