Gerard Butler Steps Out at Oscar Party After Rehab Stint (PHOTOS)

Just two days after leaving rehab, Gerard Butler joined in on the Oscar festivities on Sunday night in L.A.

The actor, who was reportedly treated for prescription drug use, looked refreshed and dapper as ever at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Butler appeared in good spirits at the fete, and was overheard telling friends he felt great.

The 300 star is said to have struggled with pain management for several years, an issue that was exacerbated when he was hurt and hospitalized while filming the surfing movie Of Men and Mavericks last December.

    No booze or drugs to be tempted by at an post-Oscar party….

    Were I his friend, I would have recommended him giving his new-found sobriety a slightly longer time to stick than 2 days.

    He looks great! As for it being so soon after rehab, he’s done this before with alcohol. I’m sure he knows the protocol.

    He is a tetotaler for alcohol and has quit smoking all on his own.
    I had no idea he had a problem with pain medication. I feel for him. His career has
    put him in harms way more than once. He suffered from all kinds of muscle strain
    and drop foot during his filming of 300. He nearly drowned during the filming of
    “Nim’s Island” and suffered all kinds of bruseing and muscle strain during his last two
    films, “Machine Gun Preacher” and “Coriolanus” as well. He seems to always get
    thrown around and injured during his filming, except for the romcoms, which everyone
    seem to begrudge him.
    I wish him all the best in this struggle. I pray no damage has been caused by his
    prescription usage. Sometimes we forget that prescription drugs can be harmful.
