HAITI

George Clooney will host a major telethon to raise funds for the devastated people of Haiti on Friday, January 22.

The star is reaching out to Hollywood friends to help with the event, which will air across MTV’s networks as well as on ABC, NBC, HBO, and CNN. Clooney joins a long list of celebrities making efforts on behalf of Haiti, including friends Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, whose $1 million donation Gossip Cop reported earlier.

Joel Gallen, who produced the post-9/11 telethon in 2001, will handle next Friday’s show.
