George Clooney is blasting widespread reports that he plans to bring a “new girl” to the Venice Film Festival, telling Gossip Cop exclusively that quotes attributed to him in the Italian press and getting picked up worldwide are “a ridiculous lie.”

“The Italian press, from Corriere Della Sera to TGCOM, Ansa, NewNotizie, Sky.it and even Vanity Fair are all running a story that quotes me as saying that I’m bringing a ‘new girl’ to the Venice film festival,” says Clooney.

“I never made that statement and it’s not true.”

“It was made up to sell tabloid magazines,” adds Clooney. “It’s a ridiculous lie and should be corrected as publicly as it was originally written.”

Last month, Clooney split with Elisabetta Canalis.

You have to ask yourself if that story was picked up from a very disturbing thread on just jared that is almost 700 comments long and mostly reads like a psychopaths diary!? No offence to the normal George fans but it really is frightening! Also those of us who hav English as a first language picked up immediately the foreign tone and word mix ups! We think somebody getting there own back?? 

So what if he was bringing a date to the festival! However, I applaud him for standing up & setting the record straight. It’s a shame more celebrities don’t debunk the crap these tabloids try to sell as “the Truth.”

Wait, George Clooney sells tabloids? Since when? I can’t remember George getting his own tabloid cover since, well, since the 90′s maybe. He seems nice and charming enough, but the man sells tabloids like he sells movie tickets. Mediocre at best.

    Wait – what?

But he always brought a new girl when he went to Venice these past years – first Sarah L, and then Eli C, not mentioning the blonde stripper who accompanied him to Cannes for Ocean’s 87 and was hidden from the public… although she was in some pics.

Hmm. Methinks skanknalis’s publicist may be releasing false statements again. George never cared before what the Italian press printed. I think they just want to paint George into a corner of not taking a new girl with him for VFF.

The more I think about it, the more this quote does not sound like George:

“The Italian press, from Corriere Della Sera to TGCOM, Ansa, NewNotizie, Sky.it and even Vanity Fair are all running a story that quotes me as saying that I’m bringing a ‘new girl’ to the Venice film festival. I never made that statement and it’s not true. It was made up to sell tabloid magazines. It’s a ridiculous lie and should be corrected as publicly as it was originally written.”

George wouldn’t bother researching and making a laundry list of Italian news sites, nor would he bother to say whether he intends to bring a date with him to VFF. It would serve skanknalis and her trashy publicist right if George does bring a date with him, although if he does, I hope it’s someone he truly wants with him and a decision made independently of what anyone else wants.

That is right silverscreen333.Why would he worry about what someone thinks?
