CLAIM: George Clooney to Marry Stacy Keibler Under Pressure From Mom

“George Clooney’s mom is playing cupid in a bid to persuade Hollywood’s most committed bachelor to tie the knot with his girlfriend Stacy Keibler,” reports the National Enquirer.

The tabloid claims Clooney is “said to be bowing under the pressure from the one woman who can still tell him what to do — his mother.”

A “source” for the Enquirer says Nina Clooney “engineered” the recent Lake Como, Italy getaway where the couple’s families spent time together.

“It was a big breakthrough for Stacy to spend quality time with George’s parents,” explains the mag’s source, adding, “Nina knows how George feels about marriage, but she thinks Stacy’s the right girl for her son and she’s determined to help him see sense.”

The Enquirer source says Keibler’s parents were on hand because “it was almost like George wanted to see how everyone got along before he popped the question.”

Wow.

So is Clooney set to make Keibler his bride, all because of his mom’s pressure?

NO.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the Lake Como family meet-up was bound to get tabloids talking, but chatter about an engagement is just empty speculation.

It’s “not true,” a Clooney rep tells Gossip Cop.

    @Claire George was married once before he was a huge star and divorced and he said He’s never getting married again. his mom needs to butt out of her grown sons personal life he was never gonna be like his dad to whom she’s been married 53 years. @Woody not all Hollywood marriages are short-lived Jefferey Hayden & Eva Marie Saint have been married 61 years in October Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward were married nearly 51 years when he passed away in September 2008 aged 83 after a brave 2 year battle with cancer. some people just aren’t meant to be married

    Well, those are only two celebrity marriages out of a million, ctbabydoll. And, the people you mentioned are/were way old and from a very different generation.

    Nina has nothing to do with. This is just more tabloid trash. Clooney’s parents would never presume to tell him who he should or shouldn’t date, marry, break up with, etc.

    As for Clooney himself, the tabloids love to drag this one out every so often, particularly when circulation is waning because it guarantees people will pick up a copy just to see. Clooney DOES sell magazines.

    Fuggettaboutit. Clooney will never marry again. Why should he? He doesn’t want kids (smart money says he had the snip-snip long, long ago), he certainly doesn’t want the liability or style-cramp of a wife. He’s Jack Nicholson all over again and intends to enjoy it. Good for him.

    As for Kiebler, as nice a girl as I am sure she is, she’s now starting to live on borrowed time. If she lasts after the summer is over, it will be one of his longer relationships. There have been many.

    Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn? Not “officially” married, but together for decades. Martin Sheen & his wife, Jay Leno & his, Danny DeVito, Sharon and Ozzy, Jeff Bridges, Annette Benning/Warren Beatty, David Bowie and Iman, Tom Hanks, Billy Crystal, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick? Just a few…

    And.. before you say they are/were way old… if you get married and stay together a long time, you do tend to age. Pointless to mention younger people who have only been married a year or two or not at all. LOL

    @Mike Yes I know that but in the later case Woodward was Newman’s 2nd wife and they did live apart at one point due to a rumor of his infidelity though eventually they worked that out. though he’s been dead nearly 4 years she still wears her wedding ring. as I said before Nina needs to butt out of George’s personal life and unfortunately tabloids are notorious for these kind of rumors. which once prompted Woodward to say they aren’t worth using as birdcage liner which she would know a thing or two about as there were once paragrine falcons in the house as pets among a menagerie of other animals.
