George Clooney Surprises Kentucky High School Basketball Player In Pickup Game
George Clooney surprised a high school basketball star and his friends when he showed up unexpectedly and joined a game of pickup.
The Oscar winner was back home in Augusta, Kentucky for a family reunion when he headed over to the local church, where Brent Bach — a recent graduate and Augusta High School’s all-time scorer — was shooting hoops, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader.
Clooney, a graduate of Augusta High School and former b-ball player, actually went to school with Bach’s parents Mike and Laura.
Bach said of his meeting Clooney, “He told me he was proud of me and everything we did for the school and the town we represented.”
The recently engaged star also showed off some of his skills on the court.
According to Bach, Clooney is “in shape,” and has an “all right jump shot.”
But as for who’s Augusta High School’s better player, Bach said Clooney “tells me he’s still No. 1, and I’m not going to argue,” adding, “He’s a really good guy.”
Bach, who will be playing college basketball, posted a photo of the encounter on Instagram, along with the caption, “Hoopin with the man that did it first in A-Town George Clooney got game! He said I’m next up! #WeOutHere. ”
