“George Courted To Run For Governor” reads a Life & Style headline to a story that claims George Clooney is being vetted for a career in politics. According to the tabloid, the Democratic party is “eyeing up” Clooney as a candidate for the 2018 gubernatorial election in California.

“Democrats are looking for the perfect successor to [current governor Jerry Brown], and George is interested,” a so-called “political insider” tells the magazine. The supposed “source” explains that Clooney “has it all,” especially now that he is engaged to human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin, whom the Democratic party calls “a dream.” “They are thrilled George is going to be married because they think a married George will be taken a whole lot more seriously then perpetual-bachelor George,” adds the magazine’s alleged insider.

So, is Clooney going to be the next Arnold Schwarzenegger? No, he is not. Of course, Life & Style is the same outlet that Gossip Cop busted for fabricating a story about Clooney being put on a “wedding diet,” as well as for falsely reporting that he was planning a $2 million wedding. Regardless, Clooney’s rep tells Gossip Cop that the story is false, saying “George has stated repeatedly that he would never go into politics.”
