George Clooney “Cheating Bombshell” Is Giant Dud
George Clooney has been caught in a “cheating scandal,” claims the National Enquirer, which advertises a “bombshell” on its cover. According to the tabloid, the star cheated on then-girlfriend Stacy Keibler with new fiancee Amal Alamuddin. “George met Amal when he and Stacy were still very much together, and he broke Stacy’s heart,” a so-called “insider” tells the outlet. The Enquirer source explains, “He says his romance with Amal didn’t begin until after he and Stacy split up, but Stacy still considers it a terrible betrayal.”
“Stacy now realizes that George was laying the groundwork for dumping her months before they actually split,” adds the tab’s insider. Because there’s no actual story — it’s fundamentally untrue that Clooney cheated on Keibler with Alamuddin, nor is there a “twisted love triangle” as the Enquirer insists — the magazine is forced to fill up space with garbage.
So it retreats to old, debunked stories about everything from Sandra Bullock supposedly being sad Clooney wouldn’t date her to Keibler getting “revenge” on Clooney by marrying Jared Pobre. It’s the kind of boring nonsense we’ve come to expect from the Enquirer in light of Clooney’s engagement. A rep for Clooney points out that he and Alamuddin began dating last October, months after he and Keibler broke up. Maybe if the Enquirer spent more time reporting and less time writing fiction about Clooney, it would have actual stories to deliver.
