WATCH: George Clooney Addresses Media Following Arrest for Sudan Protest

As Gossip Cop reported, George Clooney was arrested on Friday for civil disobedience in front of the Sudanese embassy in Washington, D.C.

The movie star and 17 other protesters – including his father Nick – were taken into custody for demanding action against Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, whom they accuse of triggering a humanitarian crisis.

After posting $100 bail, the Clooneys gave a press conference to discuss their efforts to bring attention to the bombing of civilians and other horrors underway in the African nation.

    Of course Clooney spoke to the media. Why would any of these celebrity philanthropists care if they couldn’t constantly address the media? Making sure he got arrested in full view of the cameras was for their benefit. God I wish these people would stop with this nonsense. There are so many other far more effective ways to raise money and awareness without making it ALL about yourself.

    Why would Clooney just get arrested and talk to the media to make it all about himself? If he did that, then he wouldn’t have been over there with others demonstrating for a cause. If the media helps to expose the situation then why not.

    Ask most people and they will tell you that George Clooney got arrested. Ask them what he was specifically protesting and they draw a blank. “Informed people will tell you it was “something about Sudan I think.” So what has the media exposed, other than showing endless footage of George Clooney in handcuffs? Not a lot of photos of the people from Sudan, so in the end, yes, it became ALL about George Clooney.
