George Clooney Amal Divorce

(In Touch)

George and Amal Clooney have NOT filed divorce papers after six months of marriage, despite a misleading In Touch cover story designed to trick readers into thinking the couple’s marriage has ended. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the story.

According to the magazine’s cover, the Clooneys’ “nightmare” union is over. “He can’t take it anymore,” declares the outlet, claiming he “storm[ed] out after their worst fight ever.” Of course, readers may recall that In Touch ran a divorce cover story about the couple back in February, alleging George had “dumped” Amal after 143 days of marriage. A month before that, in January, In Touch claimed the couple was set for a “$200M Divorce” in another cover story.

In Touch sure loves to run cover stories claiming the Clooneys are getting divorced! But the tabloid has been repeatedly wrong (as Gossip Cop has pointed out), and this latest report is no different. There have been NO “divorce papers.” The only actual “divorce papers” the tabloid uses in the story is the filing from Clooney’s 1992 split from Talia Balsam. That’s how desperate In Touch is.

The story itself is mostly rehashed filler about the alleged “problems” in the Clooneys’ marriage, including their supposed fights about his career, the time they spend apart for work reasons, disagreements about whether to start a family, and so on. These rumors haven’t been true no matter how many times the same tabloids repeat them.

Meanwhile, In Touch doesn’t even have the courage to say the Clooneys are actually filing for divorce. Instead, buried in the story, is a source saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised if he drew up divorce papers any day now.” They are NOT getting divorced. A rep tells Gossip Cop the new report is “all fabricated.” A source close to the situation additionally tells Gossip Cop it’s “outrageous” for the publication to bait-and-switch using Clooney’s divorce papers from more than two decades ago.
