Gene Simmons thinks he is the ultimate rock star but it’s far from the truth. Other classic rock bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and even (shudder) Def Leopard have sold more albums than KISS. Hell, even ABBA sold more albums.

And the thing is if Simmons wants to get on Rihanna for what he deems as karaoke music…..what about KISS? They’re kinda gimmicky. Truth be told I never listened to their music bc they were before my time so maybe there is something there with them. But whatever. There is a bucket for every stone.

How sad for them. There is nothing more pathetic and sad than to hear two bitter, old, junked-out has-beens criticizing today’s musicians and singers, as if anyone cares what these two think. They can’t handle that their time in the spotlight is OVAH and they need to get back to playing skeeball and canasta with their fellow old-fart peers! Gene Simmons is a pathetic excuse for a human being; he’s sexually and musically invisible and the world is a better place for it. As for Tommy, he is just a walking, hepatitis-having corpse who looks like he’s three minutes away from death at all times! Maybe Rihanna can spring for the new liver he’s going to need someday and set up a trust account for Gene to get that much-needed OLD MAN sack-lift that only a desperate hag like Shannon can appreciate! Rihanna shouldn’t put too much thought into two dudes who probably have to hire people to wipe their own asses!!!

I think it’s terribly unprofessional for Gene to be bashing other music artists. I think he’s probably a bit bitter about the fact that he’s getting older and his music isn’t as popular as it was back when he was in the limelight. That being said, it’s nice to find a music artist that performs well on both CD and live in person (which I heard Rihanna DOESN’T). I like songs with substance. I like music with substance. There have been KISS songs I’ve loved, there have been Rihanna songs I’ve loved. Music is music. It doesn’t bode well to diss one or the other just because a certain genre isn’t your preference.

Really? I think it’s sad and lacking in class for celebs to be dissing each other. I guess these two has-beens have found that the only way they can call attention to their tour is to get some press slamming other, more current artists. Try to make a graceful exit, Gentlemen (and I use the word loosely in this case).

I agree. Most pop stars can’t sing. They go up on stage, the girls go up on stage 1/2-3/4 of the way naked and lip synch to a computer loaded up with MP3s of their Auto-Tuned to death studio recordings connected to the sound system. He doesn’t have to sing, he’s in a band! Plus he has never represented himself as a singer. Big difference! The whole reason KISS was put together at all was to give fans the kind of musical performance they said they would like to see – that no one else was doing. It’s what they’re good at, for what it’s worth! I was never a fan, but their music was everywhere and still is, so it’s hard to not know it and sing along no matter how bad it is!

I’m a female that was indifferent to Rihanna. I had an opportunity to meet her and watch her in concert last summer from the front row and she completely changed my mind. She sang live and danced her a$$ off for over 2 hours. There are also artists whose music I never came to like but can receive props for working hard onstage. You can separate musical taste from the actual person’s work ethic.

But he is kinda right, I don’t like paying so much money to see these artistes and not get the real deal. Only a few artistes give you your money’s worth and actually sound good live. I love and appreciate real singers and even more the ones who sound really nice live on stage. And whether you like a popular singer or not, if they suck live, they just suck. That is all! People are too easily amused these days, I not. I love singers like Whitney, Amy Winehouse, Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Pink. And not a lot of female singers’ voice can even match to them no matter how much money they make!
