Garth Brooks Gets Concert Audience To Sing ‘Happy Birthday’ To Justin Timberlake
During his nearly sold-out show, Brooks told the crowd, “I got a buddy whose birthday is today.” He then joked, “I hate this guy because he always looks like he’s 18. I hate this guy because he’s got more talent in his pinky than my whole body. I hate this guy because my wife’s in love with him.” The singer added, “But I love this kid — this kid named Justin Timberlake.”
The audience erupted in cheers upon hearing Timberlake’s name, as Brooks announced, “We’re gonna sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Justin. I want everyone to film it and then flood his Twitter with it.” With that, everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to “JT,” and Brooks turned his handheld camera on himself and shouted, “We love you bro!”
On Monday, Timberlake posted a link to the video on his Twitter page, along with the caption, “Dude!!!! Stop it! This is THE COOLEST THING EVER! Thanks, Mr. Brooks and B-More!!!”
Brooks has long been one of Timberlake’s musical idols. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the country icon was a surprise guest at one of Timberlake’s own shows in 2014, with the two stars performing “Friends In Low Places Together.” Watch the awesome footage below of Brooks getting his concertgoers to wish Timberlake a happy birthday.
