Garth Brooks Makes Everyone Cry With Emotional Ballad “Mom” On GMA (VIDEO)
Garth Brooks gave an emotional live performance of his new song “Mom” on Friday’s “Good Morning America,” his first live performance of a song off his upcoming album “Man Against Machine.” Host Robin Roberts was visibly moved by the touching ballad that left many fans at the show’s Times Square studio wiping away tears.
The song recounts a conversation an unborn baby has with God before being brought into the world. The lyrics begin, “A little baby told God, ‘Hey I am kinda scared. Don’t really know if I want to go down there. Cause from here it looks like a little blue ball. But that’s a great big place and I’m so small.” The tender track is on “Man Against Machine,” Brooks’ first studio album in 13 years.
Brooks, who took time off from his career to raise his kids, made an appearance at Wednesday’s CMA Awards in Nashville. It was his first time at the awards since 2005, where he walked the red carpet with his wife of almost 9 years Trisha Yearwood. The singer is slated to perform at the 2014 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on November, 23. “Man Against Machine” is set to be released on November, 11.
