Garth Brooks “GMA” Video 2016: Watch Performance!
Garth Brooks performed his new song “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance” on Friday’s “GMA.” Watch below!
“Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance” was released earlier this month as the first single off Brooks’ upcoming album, Gunslinger. The record, which is slated to drop next month, is the music icon’s 10th album, but only his third since 2000. Brooks famously put his career aside to focus on his kids, before launching a long-awaited comeback in 2014.
That year, Brooks released Man Against Machine, his first album since 2001. And while he went on tour to support it, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance” is his first new music to come out in two years. Brooks co-wrote the song with a number of collaborators, including well-known Nashville songwriter and longtime friend Kim Williams, who tragically died back in February at age 68.
Brooks told Taste of Country that Williams, who was responsible for some of the country superstar’s hits over the years, actually has three songs on the new Gunslinger album. “Miss him dearly, but hopefully through the music he’ll live [on],” Brooks shared. That said, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance” isn’t a sad track, but actually a love song with flirtation lyrics.
Also on tap this year for Brooks is a Christmas album with wife Trisha Yearwood, which could lead to another “Good Morning America” appearance this holiday season. For now, check out video of Brooks’ new “GMA” performance and interview below!
